Creating a ChatGPT account is a free, quick process that lets you start using AI immediately. You only need an email address and a phone number to verify you are a real person. Once you sign up, you can access your account from any computer or smartphone without downloading complex software.

Step 1: Visit the Website To get started, you need to go to the official website. You don't need to buy anything.

Open your web browser (like Chrome, Safari, or Edge) and type chat.openai.com into the address bar at the very top. Press Enter. You will see a welcome screen with options to "Log in" or "Sign up." Click on the button that says Sign up.

Step 2: Enter Your Information Now you need to tell the system who you are. The easiest way is to use an account you already have.

If you have a Google (Gmail), Microsoft, or Apple account, you will see buttons to continue with those. Clicking one of them is the fastest method. If you prefer, you can type your email address in the box and create a password. If you create a password, make sure to write it down somewhere safe so you don't forget it.

Step 3: Verify Your Account To keep the system safe, ChatGPT needs to know you aren't a robot.

They may send an email to your inbox. Open your email, find the message from OpenAI, and click the verification link. Next, they might ask for a phone number to send a text code. Enter your mobile number, wait for the text message with a code, and type that code into the website. Once that is done, you are in! You can start typing your first "Hello" in the box at the bottom.
